This is the fastest path through Retinex. Follow the five steps below to exercise the core clinical workflow.

1. Create a patient

  1. From the left rail, click Patients → Add Patient.
  2. Fill in the required fields: family name, given name, date of birth, administrative gender, MRN (or let the system generate one).
  3. Click Save. The patient row appears in the list and the chart opens automatically.

2. Schedule an appointment

  1. With the patient open, click the Appointments tab.
  2. Click New Appointment and pick a provider, date, time, and reason for visit.
  3. Click Confirm. The appointment is written to the schedule and the patient receives an email confirmation if notification is enabled.

3. Open the chart

From the schedule, click the appointment row. The chart loads with the patient summary, problem list, medications, allergies, and the encounter timeline on the right.

4. Write a clinical note

  1. Click New Encounter from the chart toolbar.
  2. Pick an encounter type (Office Visit, Follow-up, Surgery, etc.).
  3. Use the structured panels (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan) or the free-text editor. Auto-save runs every 30 seconds.
  4. Click Sign & Lock when finished. A version is recorded for audit; further changes require an addendum.

5. Export the record

Verify the §170.315(b)(10) workflow by exporting the chart you just created:

  1. From the chart, click Export → EHI Export (7z).
  2. The archive downloads. Inside you’ll find CCDA.xml, CCDA.html, CCDA.pdf, an Attachment/ folder, and a README.txt linking to the EHI Export documentation.
  3. The archive password is shown in the UI banner and emailed to the patient if they have an email on file.

That’s the loop. Continue to the EHI Export documentation for the full DRS data dictionary, or jump to MFA documentation.
